Print quality guide
Can You Print a Screenshot as a Photo?
You can print a screenshot, but it often has fewer pixels and more compression than the original image. Find the original file whenever possible before choosing a large frame size.

01
Why screenshots often print softly
A screenshot captures the pixels displayed on a device, not the full-resolution camera or artwork file. Text and interface elements may look crisp on a phone but become soft when enlarged.
Screenshots can also include crop, color shifts and compression from the app or operating system. Those limitations become obvious in faces, fine type and high-contrast edges.
02
Use a smaller print when necessary
If a screenshot is the only source, compare its pixel dimensions with the intended print size and choose a smaller format when the effective resolution is low.
For a keepsake, ask the original photographer or creator for the source file. That preserves more detail and gives you a cleaner crop for framing.
See it before you order
Put the advice into a real frame.
Upload your picture, compare frame profiles and mats, and check the finished proportions before you commit.

Will a screenshot look good as an 8×10 print?
It depends on the screenshot’s pixel dimensions and content. Check the effective resolution and inspect text or faces before ordering.
How do I get a better file than a screenshot?
Download the original from the camera, photo library, design file or creator rather than capturing the image from a screen.
